We currently live in the small, rural town of Glendive, Montana. Home of the Dawson Community College Buccaneers and Makoshika State Park (Montana's largest state park.) We moved to Glendive in July 2015 and thoroughly enjoy living in a small town and don't mind the lack of big box retailers or city traffic. It's a gift to know our neighbors and see friends frequently around town.
Joe is the Head Men's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at DCC. Daneen also works at the college to oversee the Dawson Promise program.
We have two energetic kids who keep us laughing (and sometimes crying!) Our son JoJo was born in Feb 2018 and our daughter Aria was born in Oct 2018. They are our Irish Twins; just 8.5 months apart in age and the best of friends (most of the time.)
We are passionate about serving our community as a foster family and advocate for children in the foster care system. Since 2016 we've been able to provide a safe and life-giving home to many children from newborns to teenagers.
Our lives are dedicated to serving God however and wherever He chooses to use us for His Kingdom.
"Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you." Matthew 6:33

This blog was originally started when we lived in Kenya. Hence, much of it's contents relate to the ministry in Mbita, Kenya, a small fishing town along the
shores of Lake Victoria.
Our Ministry in Kenya
As a married couple, we desire to serve the Lord together in
ministry. Above all, we strive, to the
best of our ability with the help of God’s grace, to allow our lives to be an
example to others and model a Biblical marriage which is rooted and centered in
Christ’s love. We have each been blessed
with a wide variety of training, skills and valuable life experiences which
enable us together to be a great and effective team.
In Kenya, we served with two ministries which have a similar
mission of instilling hope to children and youth for a better future in this
life and eternity. With CHRIST’S GIFT ACADEMY, we served in a variety of administration and program coordination
roles; including overseeing both the Secondary School and Post-Secondary
Scholarship programs. Joe also taught
Math and CRE (Christian Religion Education).
The SUBA LAKERS Football Club for girls is the only one of it’s kind in
the entire county. Joe is the Co-Founder
and Head Coach and helped Daneen organized Life Skills trainings, motivational
speakers and other beneficial programs for the girls. We were both active in engaging with the girls
on and off the field as mentors.
More About Us
Prior to meeting one another in Portland, Oregon on Oct 23,
2012, we each lived, worked and thrived in a variety of states in the U.S. and
also in Africa. Joe lived in Arizona,
Montana, Louisiana & South Carolina before moving to Kenya in 2004. Daneen lived in Pennsylvania, Florida,
California, Colorado and Oregon and also spent 6 months in Zambia and 1.5 years
in Uganda. We’ve literally traveled and experienced the world on our own; yet we
couldn’t be more glad that we now get to experience life with our best friend
and spouse by our side...every day.
On May 26, 2013 we were married when we were both 36 years
old. Having never been married, we waited a long time before God brought
us together. While it wasn’t always an easy journey as a single adult, we both testify
that it was worth the wait to receive God’s best.
Read our full story and the unique and amazing way God
brought us together.
